SolarXgen is not a story of remarkable products, strategies or market-share. Our vision is built on friendship, hard work and a determination to offer commercial business the lowest cost of energy ownership within Southern Africa.
Incorporated in 2010 by a board directorate involved in over 200MW of South Africa's Renewable Energy Independent Power Procurement Programme (REIPP), SolarXgen has grown into one of the country's most trusted commercial solar and BESS developers.

Founded
Incorporated by a board directorate involved in over 200MW of South Africa's Renewable Energy Independent Power Procurement Programme (REIPP). Initial focus on PV energy and battery storage.
O&M Division Launched
Commitment to plant operations saw the addition of a dedicated O&M department, positioned to maintain solar plants for 25 years.
Funded Solar Platform
Integration of a listed funding platform enabling 25-year long-term energy leasing — zero capex for commercial businesses.

Over 1,300 Helioscope PV designs completed across 450+ projects totalling 345MW+. Operating and maintaining 19MW+ of commercial and industrial solar plants across South Africa, with a growing portfolio of funded and EPCM projects.

SolarXgen is not a traditional EPC company. We group our in-house divisions — auditing, design, procurement, construction and operations — to offer an integrated, end-to-end service. From the first site assessment to 25 years of maintenance, you deal with one partner.
Our funded solar platform, established in 2015, allows commercial businesses to access solar and battery storage with zero capital outlay. We partner with listed equity funders to deliver 25-year energy lease agreements that start saving from day one.
